Q    Is Kore Energy an Energy Broker?
A    No, Kore Energy does not act as an Energy Broker.  Typically, an Energy Broker acts on behalf of the energy provider, i.e. the natural gas Supplier, Electricity Supplier or Oil Supplier.  Quite often, an Energy Broker will receive payment from the Energy Supplier as well as the Energy Consumer, which makes it difficult if not impossible to ensure that their advice is independent.   Kore Energy only works on behalf of Energy Users, so, unlike Energy Brokers or Agents, it can assure its Clients of its impartiality in selecting Energy Suppliers.  So, please call us energy consultants, energy experts or energy advisors but not energy brokers.  And in future, if an energy broker offers you a free risk management service or energy procurement service, it may be worth considering what the true cost of that service is to your Organisation.

Q    Our carbon management requirements are increasing substantially year on year.  What carbon management service can Kore Energy provide?
A    As carbon management has become increasingly important for our clients, our carbon management service or sustainability service has developed in response.  From the management of your requirements under the European Union Emissions Trading Scheme (EU ETS), to the management of carbon price levers within electricity supply contracts through to carbon tax management, we provide a full end to end service.  We also work with clients on feasibility studies for wind generation, combined heat and power and other supply side initiatives associated with the overall drive to energy sustainability.  So, if your objective is to be carbon neutral, to reduce your carbon footprint or to improve the sustainability or environmental impact of your energy use, we can help you.

Q    Is Kore Energy an Energy Supplier or an Energy Consultant?
A    Kore Energy is not an Energy Supplier. Instead, as Energy Consultants, we manage the supply of electricity, natural gas and oil supply on behalf of industrial and commercial energy users.  We procure electricity on behalf of large energy users, we tender and negotiate electricity contracts and we provide a risk management service around the ongoing management of those contracts.  We deliver an end to end process from electricity and natural gas and oil product tendering through to bill validation.  Our service aims to deliver budget protection, competitive electricity costs and protection from energy market volatility.

Q    We want to reduce the risk in our energy procurement: How can Kore Energy help?
A    The key deliverables from our energy price risk management strategy are budget certainty and cost competitiveness.  Once your electricity supply contracts, natural gas supply contracts or oil supply contracts are negotiated, we put a process in place to ensure the optimisation of your contracts.  We develop and agree an energy risk management strategy and policy on your behalf, setting out clearly the events that will trigger a purchase or sale of energy on your behalf (fixing and unfixing your energy price).  In simple terms, we progressively close your exposure during periods when wholesale energy markets are rising and volatile.  However, as markets fall as well as rise, we also unfix future energy positions on your behalf, when prices are in decline or during periods of lower volatility.  For example, during the current Russian Ukraine crisis, fixing additional positions and reducing your exposure to wholesale market volatility might be appropriate.  But if the crisis is resolved and natural gas flows from Russia to Europe through the Ukraine are not interrupted, then reducing your level of fixed positions and unfixing prices may allow you to access lower energy costs.  Striking the correct balance between delivering budget certainty and maintaining competitive energy costs is a key deliverable from our energy price risk management service.  So for lower energy costs and peace of mind, please call us to discuss our energy service in more detail.

Q    Is Kore Energy a Natural Gas Supplier?
A    No, Kore Energy does not supply Natural Gas or indeed any other form of energy.  Instead, we manage the supply of electricity, natural gas and oil supply on behalf of industrial and commercial energy users.  We procure natural gas on behalf of large energy users, we tender and negotiate natural gas supply contracts, electricity supply contracts and oil supply contracts and we provide a risk management service around the ongoing management of those contracts.  We deliver an end to end process from electricity and natural gas and oil product tendering through to bill validation.  Our service aims to deliver budget protection, competitive electricity costs and protection from energy market volatility.

Q    Does Kore Energy provide a Geothermal Energy Service?
A    Geothermal Energy is a natural occurring renewable energy source arising from energy generated at the earth’s core.  So, while our name, Kore Energy, frequently prompts a question about our involvement in geothermal energy utilisation, we are not involved in this sector.  For leading energy procurement and energy price risk management services, please contact us.  For more information on geothermal energy, The U.S. Energy Information Administration (www.eia.gov)  provides a good overview in a global context and a U.S. context.
