Demand on the UK gas system fell back below 300MCM but was still 33% above the seasonal norm yesterday. The supply side continued to respond well with
deliveries running ahead of demand throughout the trading day. The spot price eased by 0.55p as a result while remaining prompt contracts also fell marginally. Movement on the futures market was also marginal with average losses of 0.16p on the summer months and 0.32p on seasonal contracts for Winter 17 and beyond. Brent crude moved lower for a second consecutive day, shedding 38 cents to settle at $51.44 a barrel.
