Demand on the UK gas system eased as temperatures recovered somewhat on Friday and industrial demand began to fall
heading into the holiday weekend. The UK gas system remained finely balanced around demand of 275MCM throughout the day helping spot and day ahead prices move lower but the week ahead contract for this week gained 0.65p. The new front month June contract gained 0.62p while the Winter 17 contract was up by 0.36p. The new front month Brent crude contract for July settled at just over $52.00 a barrel but was still down by 44 cents a barrel week-on-week.
