Crude oil prices continue to strengthen ahead of the latest tropical storm which is expected to make landfall in the Florida area this weekend. Brent crude is currently
trading at $54.50 a barrel as the market awaits data from the U.S. Energy Department today which may shed some light on the fall-out from last week's storm. Demand on the UK gas system has eased slightly and forecast deliveries are running almost 8MCM long this morning. Despite the system comfort, the spot price is up by 0.40p while futures contracts traded so far, this morning are all showing modest gains against last night's closing positions.
