The issues surrounding the EDF's nuclear fleet continued to cause concerns for the UK gas markets on Thursday and trading on the front month and season was volatile. At the end of trading
the October contract added almost a half a penny while longer curve contracts averaged losses of a penny. Prompt prices were mixed with the spot and day ahead declining while the balance of month product added 2.80p to bridge the gap to the October price. Crude oil prices continued to soften on concerns of a global economic slowdown.
