Demand on the UK gas system remained below 200MCM on Monday as wind generation increased, displacing some gas fired-power generation demand. The system
was comfortably supplied throughout the day and early losses of 1.00p and 1.50p on the spot and day ahead contracts were retained. The week ahead and balance-of-month contracts fell by 4.50p to align with the day ahead as the supply outlook improved with Langeled flows rising and strong LNG send-out maintained. Near futures contracts recorded losses of between 0.41p and 0.72p. Brent crude closed 2 cents lower day-on-day at $58.35.
